1. Is there a cost to speak to or meet with a VFI representative?

No. VFI does not charge a fee for any consultations regarding available benefits, government programs, financial services, etc.

2. How will I know if I/my loved one is eligible for benefits?

VFI works with numerous government programs, and each has its own set of eligibility and qualification criteria. When doing an analysis of your situation we will be asking questions to see if the potential recipient may be eligible for VA Aid and Attendance Benefits, Medicaid, your state prescription drug programs, or other state specific programs for senior citizens. Some of these programs have very clear cut qualifications and others are more discretionary.

In the case of Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefits, our advisors we will do our best to educate you about the general criteria used by the VA to determine eligibility for benefits. If you meet the basic criteria we will encourage you to apply for benefits. Unfortunately, until the application is approved by the VA, no one will know for sure if you/your loved one will be approved.

3. Is VFI part of the VA or a governmental agency?

No. VFI is a privately held financial service company specializing in the needs of seniors in need of healthcare.

4. If I choose not to go into the assisted living community that referred me to VFI, can I still use your services?

Yes. VFI works with many assisted living, nursing homes, home health care agencies, and senior referral services. If you have been referred by a community with whom we have a relationship, our services are available at no cost, no matter which community you choose to use.

5. How does VFI get paid?

Because VFI is a financial services company, many families, including the children of the clients we help with benefits, also use our services for financial products or long term care insurance. It is part of our commitment to the community who referred you to us that if you or your family does not need such services or products you will still get the same level of service.

6. Does VFI speak in public settings such as seminars or workshops?

Yes. VFI has several excellent presentations available for the public, on issues such as funding your long term care, Veterans Aid and Attendance and other government benefits, long term care insurance, estate planning, financial planning and taxation. We often speak at VFW halls, Assisted Living Communities, associations, and other groups or events geared toward seniors and veterans. We do not charge for these speaking engagements.
